24 from Nigeria Female Students Freed Over a Week Post Abduction

A total of two dozen Nigerian-born female students who were abducted from a learning facility over a week ago are now free, government officials stated.

Attackers raided the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School situated within local province last month, fatally wounding a worker while capturing multiple pupils.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu commended military personnel regarding their "swift response" post-occurrence - despite the fact that precise conditions regarding their liberation had not been clarified.

The continent's largest country has experienced multiple incidents of kidnappings in recent years - amounting to two hundred fifty youths abducted from faith-based academy days ago remaining unaccounted for.

Via official communication, a designated representative within the government confirmed that all the girls captured at learning institution located in the area were now safe, mentioning that the incident sparked copycat kidnappings across further Nigerian states.

National leadership said that more personnel will be assigned towards high-risk zones to avert more cases involving abductions".

Through another message on X, government leadership stated: "The Air Force is to maintain constant observation over the most remote areas, coordinating activities alongside land forces to accurately locate, contain, disturb, and counteract all hostile elements."

Over 1,500 children were taken hostage from educational institutions in recent years, during which 276 girls were taken hostage amid the well-known major capture incident.

Recently, at least three hundred students and employees got captured at St Mary's School, faith-based academy, in Nigeria's regional territory.

Fifty of those captured at educational facility have since escaped as reported by religious organizations - yet approximately 250 remain unaccounted for.

The main church official within the area has stated that Nigeria's government is making "insufficient measures" to recover captured persons.

This kidnapping at the school marked the third instance affecting the nation over recent days, compelling President Bola Tinubu to postpone journey to the G20 summit organized within the African country days ago to address the situation.

United Nations representative the official requested the international community to "do our utmost" to support efforts to return the abducted children.

The envoy, ex-British leader, commented: "The duty falls upon us to make certain Nigerian schools remain secure environments for learning, instead of locations in which students might get taken from educational settings for criminal profit."
