A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign seeks to send support to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it fails to, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded following a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the piece was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The diverse array of musicians appearing on Lullaby features a selection of well-known figures from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which managed to collect a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The track features a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The team running the campaign have stated that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These donations will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a fixed goal,” a representative said. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was described as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of property described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is primarily making this cause better known and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The track is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from mid-December.
