A tragic explosion at a law enforcement facility in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has led to the fatalities of nine persons and injuries to thirty-two others, according to official statements.
The occurrence occurred when a stockpile of confiscated explosives unintentionally detonated during handling procedures.

The blast occurred on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam police station, where blast substances seized from Faridabad region in the northern state of Haryana province were being kept briefly.
Regional security director stated that the blast materials were awaiting forensic examination when a "very unfortunate" accident during management resulted in their blast at approximately 23:20 local time.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that this was an "inadvertent blast" and not a terror incident. "Different conjectures regarding the cause of this event is unnecessary," emphasized the security director during a press briefing.
The police station experienced significant harm from the explosion, with adjacent buildings also being impacted by the strong explosion.

Multiple vehicles were "covered in blaze and reduced to charred husks, with wreckage spread across the site," according to police accounts.
"The power of the detonation was so powerful that some body parts were recovered from nearby houses, approximately between 100 and 200 meters from the law enforcement facility," mentioned an authority informant.
The majority of the casualties were security officials, along with scientific examination staff, two evidence documentation specialists, and a tailor who was with the team.
