Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates features live text for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , following last week's talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their perfect starts.

Notable in those games were the amount of penalties both conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 going into the final quarter against Denver, set to play overseas this weekend.

But it was good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending more than four defenders but they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

Early on of the season, it was noted during a show how Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year well then excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while new running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that the Broncos are a team that wants to run first, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in favourable down and distances.

This has helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw all over, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he's highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, and using varied release points to make throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays great composure in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it consumes time and makes the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense must cover the area downfield side to side. This proves exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach during games at times and I think Payton likes that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. The coach can truly develop him the way he desires to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are having on offence is mostly due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix aids shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working above average, which is a solid position to hold the AFC West. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win a game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising when you think that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
