The newest Far Cry instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for celebrating violence and insanity with equal glee, all while weaving gripping, politically driven stories. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two visionaries whose work have embodied all of those elements.

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game property, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' format by featuring a different location and cast of characters in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we have no details on what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the showrunner.

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
